The wedding day
So on August 3, 2013 Drake and I were sealed for time and all eternity! The day was better than either one of us could have ever asked for. We were sealed in the Sacramento California Temple and then went and had a wonderful luncheon. THe reception that followed later that night was beautiful. We are so grateful to all the family and friends who came out and helped us celebrate our special day.
How we met... and got engaged.
story 1: How we met
So about a year ago i started a job being a BYU carpet cleaner. This job was one of many that i had applied for and actually got. But over the course of a week, different things came up and i only had two jobs left . Carpet cleaning and concessions. So of course it all worked out. Well upon my arrival at work at carpet cleaning i met my coworkers. One of them being Drake Cottman. Most people ask was it something that clicked right from the start? honestly no. i met him but only worked with him once within the first month. He was a very popular guy at work. :) Anyway over the course of the summer we became the greatest of friends. We often did things in group settings and just developed a fantastic friendship over the course of 6 months. So then in october he asked me out and i said yes. This friendship then developed even more over the next 6 months and led to what now is an absolutely fantastic loving relationship.
Story 2: how he proposed
So one thing you all should know about Drake and myself is that we LOVE BOWLING!! okay now on with the story. So leading up to the proposal Drake had been telling me for about a month that he had the ring. Of course i just thought he was messing with me and i didn't believe him. I found out later that he was telling the truth the whole time. haha. so of course on March 30, 2013 when He kept telling me that he was going to propose that night, i once again didn't believe him. The day was just like any other. We went to the Festival of colors with my wonderful sisters and then just hung out with them till they left. Then we watched The first of the lord of the Rings trilogy ( since i had never seen it). After the movie was over, he asked me what i wanted to do. This was very sneaky on his part because i didn't think a thing. So i realized it was dollar bowling night so i said we should go bowling. on our way up to the alley, he asked me if we could go to the temple the next evening and just walk around and talk. I thought at this point that i knew that the proposal was coming... but not until the next day. :) We bowled and he had an awesome game and got his first turkey ever. I was super proud of him, but i was also very focused on the fact that it was the last frame and i needed to get at least one strike. I get kind of competitive when it comes to playing games against Drake. Anyway so i bowled and got a spare... when i turned around to bowl once again Drake was down on one knew in the alley. I was completely caught off guard and told him to stand up and come over. He then asked me if i would marry him. I told him of course and then asked him to go sit down so i could finish the game. I know so romantic, but i was completely caught off guard . After i bowled which i was completely shaking for... i went over and he put the ring on my finger and we had a wonderful celebration. It was the perfect proposal :)
